Step into a vital role as a skilled professional supporting patients’ respiratory care in a hospital setting. Licensed Respiratory Therapists and Registered Respiratory Therapists are needed for contract positions. This role is essential to delivering accurate respiratory assessments and therapy interventions for individuals with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Night shifts, 36 hours per week
  • Includes weekends and holidays
  • No on-call requirements
  • Four to five-week duration
  • No block scheduling
  • Key Qualifications:

  • Active Rhode Island Respiratory Therapy license required
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist credentials (RRT)
  • Previous hospital or acute care experience preferred
  • Current BLS certification (additional ACLS preferred)
  • Expertise in ventilator management, oxygen therapy, and airway clearance techniques
  • Proficiency in rapid response and emergency care situations
  • Strong interpersonal and clinical documentation skills
  • Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and review patient respiratory status
  • Administer therapies such as nebulization, CPT, oxygen delivery, and mechanical ventilation support
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatments per physician protocols
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations (codes, rapid response)
  • Educate patients and their families about respiratory care and equipment
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating reliability during nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Adhere to hospital policy, maintaining accurate records
