Schedule/Hours:

  • Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid and current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
  • Prior experience in neonatal or pediatric respiratory therapy, preferably in a Level 2 Special Care Nursery
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
  • Proficiency in medication administration, including use of medication carts and Omnicell systems
  • Demonstrated competency in blood gas sampling, analysis, and interpretation
  • Familiarity with humidified therapy, high-risk delivery attendance, and respiratory equipment such as aerosol masks, nasal cannulas, T-piece ventilation
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver medicated aerosol therapies using small volume nebulizers and educate patients and families on aerosol, MDI, and DPI therapy
  • Operate and manage DPI, MDI, and holding chambers for neonatal patients
  • Implement bar code medication administration processes
  • Perform suctioning, manual ventilation, intubation assistance, and assisted ventilation as clinically indicated
  • Provide care during high-risk deliveries, including surfactant administration and adherence to NRP protocols
  • Carry out humidified therapy utilizing heated humidity equipment and masks
  • Accurately obtain, analyze, and interpret blood gases to optimize respiratory management
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional patient outcomes
