  • Qualifications:

  • Valid and active Registered Respiratory Therapist licensure
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • Recent experience in acute or critical care respiratory therapy preferred
  • Strong communication and patient education skills
  • Ability to work independently and with multidisciplinary teams
  • Responsibilities:

  • Deliver intensive respiratory care and manage patient transport as prescribed within licensure
  • Evaluate patients and develop individualized respiratory care plans
  • Educate patients about treatments, procedures, and discharge instructions
  • Administer physician-ordered therapies, operate ventilatory equipment (invasive/non-invasive), administer medications, and perform oxygenation
  • Perform chest physiotherapy, tracheostomy care, arterial punctures, and suctioning
  • Monitor and document patient responses, chest x-rays, oximetry, capnography, and 12-lead EKGs
  • Participate in procedures such as bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, and pulmonary function studies
  • Accurately enter and update records, ensure precise respiratory therapy charging, and facilitate thorough handoff communications
