Schedule/Hours:

  • Travel position, flexibility required as shifts vary per facility need
  • Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Previous experience in respiratory therapy, with acute care or critical care experience preferred
  • Strong clinical skills in invasive and non-invasive ventilatory management
  • Proficient in chest physiotherapy, tracheostomy care, EKGs, pulmonary function testing, and capnography
  • Detail-oriented with solid communication and patient education abilities
  • Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality patient care, including intensive respiratory support and transport into/out of the facility under minimal supervision
  • Assess patient status, recommend and initiate individualized respiratory care plans
  • Administer physician-prescribed treatments using ventilators, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizers
  • Perform chest physiotherapy, secretion clearance, and patient suctioning
  • Execute oximetry, capnography, 12-lead EKGs, and basic arrhythmia analyses
  • Conduct pulmonary function studies and participate in advanced procedures (e.g., bronchoscopy, chest tube placement)
  • Deliver tracheostomy and endotracheal tube care, both emergent and non-emergent
  • Carry out arterial blood gas sampling; interpret and report ventilation efficiency
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot ventilatory equipment; support preventive maintenance initiatives
  • Educate patients regarding treatments and discharge care
  • Accurately document care provided and communicate effectively during shift transitions
  • Maintain accurate respiratory therapy charges and compliance with laboratory policies
