This travel position offers a unique opportunity for respiratory therapists to deepen their expertise within a Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and designated Primary Stroke Center. Working alongside seasoned professionals will broaden your understanding of diverse workplace protocols and enhance your adaptability—key for advancing your overall clinical practice and enriching your resume. Montgomery’s collaborative healthcare environment allows for exposure to Cerner EMR, advanced ventilators, and the chance to work across various patient populations, including critical NICU cases, adult care, and transport scenarios.

Schedule & Hours:

  • 3 x 12-hour day shifts
  • Weekend rotation every other weekend
  • Voluntary on-call available
  • Required to work one major and one minor holiday (per policy)
  • Qualifications:

  • Credentialed Respiratory Therapist (RRT preferred; CRT considered with minimum 2 years of relevant experience)
  • BLS certification; NRP required for NICU; ACLS/APLS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years’ recent experience (including Level III NICU within the last 12 months for NICU roles)
  • Proficiency with Cerner or EPIC EMRs
  • Experience with Omnicell, Spacelabs monitors, PB 840, PB 980, Drager VN500, LTV, and Airvo ventilators
  • Flexibility to float between NICU and adult units as needed
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver general and critical respiratory care services to diverse hospital populations
  • Provide specialized NICU and ground transport services, including Nitric Oxide administration (Preferred)
  • Adhere to best practices for patient safety and multi-disciplinary collaboration
  • Engage in comprehensive orientation (24 hrs classroom plus 24 hrs on-unit for new or returning clinicians)
